ROAD TRIP

Oil on canvas, 2003

I photographed much of the reference for "Road Trip" along the back roads of southeastern Minnesota. The look of this painting suggests it may be a scene from the past when barn advertisements were still a common sight around the country and kids still played informal, sandlot baseball games in their spare time. The A.J. Reach ball was a popular baseball as far back as the early 1900's.
